My Ambassadors Application

Hi my name is Sheales and I am a Year 5 student at Pt England School. In maths this year I have learnt my basic facts properly, which has helped me when I am confused or stuck.  In reading I have learnt that when you have to retell a story to make sure that you read that story over and over again to give you a good idea of it. In writing I have learnt that you have to use punctuation and that you need to hook in your reader when you are writing a story. Also before I write a story I need to make sure that I have one big Idea or even a brainstorm.

In term 4 the theme was PES Survivors. If you look through my blog you will see an animation I have created. My animal is a coyote and it lives in the desert. In my animation it shows what my animal looks like in it natural environment. Then through my animation you will see how my animal has to change to survive in a new environment, which is the Arctic.

When I finish my learning I share it on my blog to show people how and what I learn at school. Next year, if I become an ambassador it will give me a chance to show my learning to visitors and will be a way that I can represent my school. So that is why I am applying to be an Ambassador for Pt England School.

My reflection with rose and the bees

Did you know that on Thursday the 3rd of December a lady named Rose came to the year 5 and 6 extension class? We had an experience to look at bees in their beehive. Did you also know that I could see honey? Rose came in with some photos. Almost all the flowers had bees on it. I saw quite a few queen bees in the photos. She was telling us about why you shouldn’t weed kill your garden in the daytime you should use weed killer  when all the bees are sleeping.

There was also 1 drone bee and the rest were worker bees.

Rose was telling us about a Vespula germanica which is a german wasp. They kill a lot of bees. Bees are the only insects in the world that makes food for humans. There is 1 queen bee per hive. Before there is a queen bee the drone bees get a young female bee and they feed it royal jelly and that is how there is a queen bee. A Queen bee will fly around and all the drone bees will follow.

When the queen bees settle the drone bees will find a hole in a tree or a house and they will stay there. Bees can be found anywhere like your garden trees and more. We also had an experience to hold a honeycomb which was dried with grubs inside it.  The only 2 things that i wondered about the beehive was, why was there was only 1 drone bee and no queen bees? My Athletics Writing

What team do you think is the best? Red, Green, Yellow or Blue. I will tell you my best. It is called hokule'a. If you’re wondering what hokulea stands for it is for green. Green is currently the most popular decorating colour, green symbolizes nature. It is a calming, refreshing colour. On friday the 13th of november it was Pt England school's annual athletics day.

When the 9.00o'clock bell rang room 9&10 walked to our school court. Then we sat down and Mr Burt,Mr jacobsen and Miss Va'afusuaga told us were all the different activities are and when we have to swap over. Before that all the year 5’s had to split into a girls group and a boys group .The girls first activity was shotput. After That our second activity was high jump. Every single girl had to split up. We all had to split up to what hand we write with. Almost all the girls went on the right. We all nearly made  it over. at it came down to the three finalist which was me my other 2 friends. Named  Aneelis and faioso. As soon as it went to high we were the that just made it over. Faioso came 1st I came 2nd and Aneelis came 3rd. Guess what? We were all in Hokule'a.

The next activity we went to was softball. Lots of girls were throwing  far but only three people threw it the farest which was me Faioso and another girl named Myzstique. Mystique came 1st faioso came 2nd and I came 3rd.

Moreover before we all threw the farest other girls threw far but when it was Me, Myzstique and faioso’s turn we were the ones who threw further. Furthermore 3 more girls went after us but they didn’t throw far enough.

I felt happy because that was a great day and I had fun.When me and my friend Aneelis finished high jump we had scrapes on our arms. Also I had a sore arm and a sore leg. Vote For Hokule'a it’s the best.

On a winter sunny weekend me and my older cousin went on a train ride. We were going to Sylvia park. When we got to sylvia park and when we arrived there another train came and we crashed into the other train and the people on the train died. I tried to escape from the train and I did. My Egg Friend Recount

Guess what? Well this is crazy so on Wednesday the 21st of october room 9 had to do an activity with an egg. It was weird. It was an egg race. When our teacher told us I was shocked and then he told us more information. I finally understood.

Then he gave us an egg and we also had to  draw faces on it. The colour for my egg’s mouth, nose, eyes and hair were green. Furthermore when were still drawing on our eggs one of the boys in our class named John bumped another boy named Simon and Simon’s egg dropped and cracked. Moreover someone helped  Simon clean up. After that we walked to Pt England schools playground. Even more when we got to the park our teacher took a photo of us with our eggs. Then our teacher gave us a spoon it was a little spoon and our egg couldn’t even fit on it.

But we still raced when some of us started we had to go over 4 things and under 1. When my friend Anna went to walk with her egg, her egg dropped and cracked. So then me and my other friends went to go bury her egg and I said ‘‘Happy long life to you happy long life to you,

Happy long life to you happy long life to you, Happy long life to nickson Happy long life to you happy long life to you’’. We carried on with the race and one of my friends won.

It was really sad when my friends egg cracked but I was also happy for my other friend when she won. That was a great morning and also weird It was also a good experience.

My Holiday Highlight Term 4 Week 1

When it was the last day of school on a friday, the bell rang for home time. I was so glad because it was the school holidays. Then  I quickly dashed home and I was so HAPPY.

The reason why I dashed home is because during the holidays me and my family are going exciting places. Like the movies, the pools and other cool places but I am only going to talk about 1 place we went which is the movies. On a sunny warm Monday me and my family were going to the movies. 1st we had to get ready then after that we drove down to G.I train station. After that we went to go get our tickets for the train.

Then we heard the train coming and a light went red. Furthermore we jumped on the train and we arrived at sylvia park because we went to hoyts in sylvia instead of events. Moreover 1st we went to pak n save to get sweets for the movie. Next we went to go book our tickets to watch the movie and the movie we watched was Born to dance. After we watched the movie we tained back to G.I and we went in our car and went back home.

That was a very cool movie and I enjoyed watching it and I also enjoyed it because it had lots of dancing, lots of my favourite music and I also liked the sweets we had. Then my Family ‘‘said that was the best movie we ever saw’’. Furthermore ‘‘I said I know that was the best movie ever’’ and I laughed. What I hope for next time is to watch another fantastic movie just like born to dance.

Hi my name is Sheales and welcome to my blog. I am a year 5 and I’m in Room 10 and also I’m 10 years old. My teachers names are Mrs Jacobsen and my other teachers name is Mr Baxendine. My favourite thing is sports which is  

netball, rugby,touch,and also cricket. In my family I have 7 people and I enjoy seeing my friends at school.

Short Bull Writing

On a Cloudy cold afternoon a man went swimming then a bull came outta nowhere and frightened the man, the man was terrified and he panicked. It looked like he tried to swim away but he couldn’t , it looked like he was getting attacked and the bull looked wild.

My Rubric and My Cross Country Writing

On Monday the 7th of September Pt England school had a Cross country, It was on our school field and also on Pt England reserve. We Started our cross country after lunch at 1.00 O’clock pm. Before we started that we had a early lunch then we started.

At 1.00 O'clock pm the bell rang the we had to go to our classes, after that we went on our schools hard court and sat in our year lines but we sat in a year 5 girls line and a year 5 boys line. Then our principal Mr Burt and our sports teacher Miss Vaafusuaga told us the rules and also directions meaning where to run, but  before we ran they told us that Champions Never give up. Then the year 1’s started running.

Furthermore the cross country began, when the year 1 boys were running we watched them and they were very good. A boy named Israel came first and when he was running he never stopped running. Moreover after the year 1, 2, 3 and 4’s ran It was nearly the year 5’s turn.But after the year 5 boys ran it wasn’t the year 5 girls that ran it was the year 7 boys then after them it was the year 5 girls turn.

When the year 5 girls ran we got very MUDDY , and when we all came past the finish line we knew what position we came then we went to go get a water and it was tiring.  But when we went to go sit down to watch the year 6 and 8’s and also the year 7 girls run some of us went to go wash our feet. The year 7's and 8's had to run 2 laps.

We all had house colours but the colours where primary colours. If you don’t know what primary colours are? Well now you do they are Red,Blue and ,Yellow and Green is not a primary colour.

After I ran I felt really happy that I ran because it was really

good for me because it is good exercise and I like running and next time I hope I come 1st 2nd or 3rd.

The plane crusher

THE PLANE CRUSHER

One day I was walking on Pt England Beach.

Then suddenly I heard this really loud sound. I didn’t know what it was. I slowly looked to my left  and right to see what it was. After that the sound was getting louder and louder and I was getting annoyed that I ran home and told my brothers and sisters they thought I was Crazy. Then I took them to the beach and they also heard it.

Moreover we were walking back slowly and then we saw a big plane. We all ran quickly and as we ran it all went quiet and the plane was slowing down. I ”said now we are all safe ‘‘. We heard someone say HELP HELP!! we looked everywhere and I saw my sister we went to go help her and her leg was stuck.

We tried to pull her leg out and it wouldn’t work we tried again and she wriggled her leg and it came out. The plane fell apart and we called the mechanic and they came by the time they came we were gone. It was the worst day ever.

My Trade Fair Writing

On Friday the 14th of august 2015 class 6,7,8,9 and 10 had a trade fair. If you don’t know what a trade fair is well now you do. A trade Fair is where you can buy stuff and where you can sell stuff. But when you sell stuff you have to be in groups. For example we had to pick groups and the options where Kitchen,Toys,Instruments,Custom Stationery, Homeware and Jewels and accessories.

We get money but it is not New Zealand money we call it PT’S and Pieces the PT’S are called 2 PT's and 1Pt and the pieces are called 50 pieces and

20 pieces. We get paid because we be good and we help around the classes did I also mention that only team 4 which is the year 5’s and 6’s get PT’s and Pieces. Only our teachers give them to us.

The group I picked was homeware in home ware we sell soaps, vases,coasters, and candles also in our groups In Home ware we make stuff and we had to pick our partners my partner is Adriel. We are making Coasters and vases. When we went to our group we first pick what we want to do and then we brain storm what we are making.

Then of friday we sit on a table and we wait until people want to buy our stuff then we say what colour do you want and do you want a coaster or vase. Then me and my partner had to have turn to sell and go shopping. What I mean by go shopping ias go buy other people's stuff from the business the group I went to was kitchen I brought a Oreo Cake and A milk. Then After that I went back to my Partner and the I went to sell and she went shopping. 6 people brought our products and now we have to make the things they ordered.

I had so much fun on Friday and it was the best Trade fair I ever had and I think it was a Good Topic for us.

Guess what? During the holidays I went to some awesome places. The places where AMF BOWLING, Mcdonalds, Burger King,Kfc, Mt Wellington Inactive Volcano, Beach and the pools.  I went to all these places because we were  very good in the holidays and we were beginning our parents if we could go out.

But  I am only going to talk about 2 places I went to AMF Bowling and before we went to Bowling 1 of my sisters where very selfish because she never shares anything of hers and she is also gready.

When we left we got in the car and my dad was driving. He Drove us to the AFM bowling, when we arrived there we walked in and went to go pay to do the bowling. After that  we had to get some shoes, then we chose a ball. Furthermore when I bowled the ball and I got a strike. Every time we got a strike our parents would give us Money.

Moreover when me and my Sibling all got a strike we went to go play the arcade games and when we were finished we went to go change our AFM tickets to a ricet and we got to peace prizes. As soon as we got our receipt we all saw how much tickets we got and I got 377, My Little sister got 113, My older sister got 221, and my tiny brother got 363.

Then we went to burger king and I had a green lime frozen drink and and ice-cream burgers and fries for my whole family, when we got our food we so Grateful. After that we went to the park and we were Joyful and excited.

When we got home we ate cupcakes and ice-cream, it was so delicious and my mum and dad ‘‘said did we have fun” and ‘‘we said yes” .

I had the best day ever in the holiday and Me and my Siblings had Fun and next time I hope we do that again!!

My Game Animation

I am going to tell you about my game animation. It is about ghost and other characters.

In the game I will be telling you how to work the game and how to play it. I am making this game because you can play it on a rainy day or on any day.

My character is a ghost. Her job is to get to the bonus level so she is safe. If she dies 3 times the enemy will get her and kill her with a picaxe. So try not die.

In My game there are different levels including a bonus level. To get to the bonus level you have to run as fast as you can because another ghost named Grimmy will get you and kill you if you keep on dying.

You collect coins. There are also bombs and mushrooms that can make you die and lose lives.

Well I hope you enjoyed my game and have fun playing it.

My story about a Wizard and a magical Lamp

Once upon a time there lived a wizard who worked for a king who lived in a castle
He worked for an obnoxious king because every time people visited the king, they would eat and the smart,  intelligent wizard would put on a show and do magic tricks. Then one day the wizard went for a walk in the forest and he found a magic lamp, it was so magical that if you rub it and wish for something it will come true.

Furthermore the next day he lost his wand. He went looking for it all over the castle and he also asked the king, the king's wife and the king's daughter. But then he remembered he had the light magical lamp. He then rubbed it and wished that he could have another wand and his wish came true.


Then he went for another walk, and saw posters  of the magical lamp he had. Moreover on the poster there was a number if anyone found it, the reward was $2,000, he went home and got the magical lamp and then he went back to the poster and rang the number and he said I have found your Lamp and then they came to collect it. There daughter was happy when she saw the lamp because it belonged to her and the wizard gave it back to her and she said thank you.
