Camp recount

Every year at Pt England School the Yr 8’s go off to a leadership camp to enjoy heaps of activities and leadership opportunities for 3 days. But this year we headed for Kauaeranga Christian camp in Thames.

The camp had activities that they would normally have at a camp but their were activities that you wouldn’t expect they would have like go karting rifles and even… Paintballing. Have you ever done paintballing before? I have and when I went paintballing the paintball felt like a bruise when it hit me because we were using guns. But this time we were using slingshots.

It was finally my groups turn Kauegrana A to go to paintball. When we got to paintball we were ready to start so our instructor Prince took us through on what we had to do. As we were about to start I had shivers down my spine. We got put in groups so then my team went to one end and the other group to the other end. Then all I heard was screaming it was from the other team trying to shoot at us but luckily we had cover from the tyers that were their.

I head the paintballs splashing onto the tyers, then I got my paintball put it in my slingshot and was ready to fire. But I hesitated for a second, then I got up and took the shot. I was looking on the side of the tyres and saw the other team firing at the team I was in then I slowly crept to the next tyers and was trying to aim for some of the people but it kept going over their head. After a few shots I could hear Prince saying ‘‘ it’s 2 on 2 ‘’. It was me and my friend and these 2 boys. I got up then I got shot it hurted not has bad as it would of if it was a gun, I wanted to give up but I felt sorry for my friend so I kept going.

Me and my friend rushed towards the 2 boys and got them out, we ended up being the winners. If we ever play paintball again i’m gonna wear thicker clothes so It don’t hurt as much.

My Egg Friend Recount

Guess what? Well this is crazy so on Wednesday the 21st of october room 9 had to do an activity with an egg. It was weird. It was an egg race. When our teacher told us I was shocked and then he told us more information. I finally understood.

Then he gave us an egg and we also had to  draw faces on it. The colour for my egg’s mouth, nose, eyes and hair were green. Furthermore when were still drawing on our eggs one of the boys in our class named John bumped another boy named Simon and Simon’s egg dropped and cracked. Moreover someone helped  Simon clean up. After that we walked to Pt England schools playground. Even more when we got to the park our teacher took a photo of us with our eggs. Then our teacher gave us a spoon it was a little spoon and our egg couldn’t even fit on it.

But we still raced when some of us started we had to go over 4 things and under 1. When my friend Anna went to walk with her egg, her egg dropped and cracked. So then me and my other friends went to go bury her egg and I said ‘‘Happy long life to you happy long life to you,

Happy long life to you happy long life to you, Happy long life to nickson Happy long life to you happy long life to you’’. We carried on with the race and one of my friends won.

It was really sad when my friends egg cracked but I was also happy for my other friend when she won. That was a great morning and also weird It was also a good experience.

My Trade Fair Writing

On Friday the 14th of august 2015 class 6,7,8,9 and 10 had a trade fair. If you don’t know what a trade fair is well now you do. A trade Fair is where you can buy stuff and where you can sell stuff. But when you sell stuff you have to be in groups. For example we had to pick groups and the options where Kitchen,Toys,Instruments,Custom Stationery, Homeware and Jewels and accessories.

We get money but it is not New Zealand money we call it PT’S and Pieces the PT’S are called 2 PT's and 1Pt and the pieces are called 50 pieces and

20 pieces. We get paid because we be good and we help around the classes did I also mention that only team 4 which is the year 5’s and 6’s get PT’s and Pieces. Only our teachers give them to us.

The group I picked was homeware in home ware we sell soaps, vases,coasters, and candles also in our groups In Home ware we make stuff and we had to pick our partners my partner is Adriel. We are making Coasters and vases. When we went to our group we first pick what we want to do and then we brain storm what we are making.

Then of friday we sit on a table and we wait until people want to buy our stuff then we say what colour do you want and do you want a coaster or vase. Then me and my partner had to have turn to sell and go shopping. What I mean by go shopping ias go buy other people's stuff from the business the group I went to was kitchen I brought a Oreo Cake and A milk. Then After that I went back to my Partner and the I went to sell and she went shopping. 6 people brought our products and now we have to make the things they ordered.

I had so much fun on Friday and it was the best Trade fair I ever had and I think it was a Good Topic for us.
